Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. UnlockFocus works fully on your device without an account. Signing in only adds cloud backup and sync.

How do I block apps?

UnlockFocus uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls. Grant Screen Time access when asked, then choose the apps and categories to block.

Blocking isn’t working.

Check that Screen Time access is granted (Settings → Apps & permissions), that you’ve selected apps to block, and that a focus session or unlock window is active. Blocking works within Apple’s limits and can be affected by iOS updates.

How does “learn to unlock” work?

Finish a short lesson or quiz to earn an unlock window during which your blocked apps open.

Is the AI quiz private?

AI is optional and only runs when you tap Generate and confirm. Only the single note you choose is sent. You can also use the on-device quiz to keep everything local. See our AI and OCR Processing Notice.

How do I scan a note?

Use the scan option and pick a photo. Text is read on your device; the image is not uploaded.

How do I manage or cancel Premium?

Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → UnlockFocus on your iPhone. See the Subscription and Refund Policy.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something’s broken, email us first.

How do I delete my data or account?

Delete local data in Settings → Privacy. Delete your account from the Account screen or by emailing us. See the Account Deletion Policy.
