Account Deletion Policy
You can delete your UnlockFocus account and your cloud data at any time. This page explains how, and what happens.
How to request deletion
In-app: open Account (from the dashboard or Settings → Account) and choose the account-deletion option, or
By email: send a message from your account email address to cloudpilarapps@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account”.
Requesting from your account email helps us verify the request quickly. If you email from a different address, we may ask you to verify your identity.
What gets deleted
When we process your request, we permanently delete from our systems:
- Your account and authentication record (email, user ID, login provider link)
- Your synced content: notes, learning goal, decks, questions and progress stored in your private cloud space
What stays on your device
Deleting your account removes your cloud data. Any data still on your iPhone remains until you remove it. To clear on-device data, use Settings → Privacy → Delete local data, or delete the app. You can do this before or after account deletion.
What may remain temporarily
For a short period after deletion, limited copies may still exist in:
- Encrypted backups held by our backend provider, until they are overwritten on the normal backup cycle
- System logs kept for security and troubleshooting
These are not used for any other purpose and are removed or overwritten in the ordinary course. We do not keep them longer than necessary.
Third parties
- Apple handles your subscription. Deleting your UnlockFocus account does not cancel an active subscription — manage or cancel that in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone (see the Subscription and Refund Policy).
- AI provider (OpenAI): we do not retain a separate stored copy of notes sent for AI generation; their handling is governed by their own terms.
How long it takes
We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of a verified request, and usually much sooner. We will confirm by email once done.
